Overview

Luxury Madagascar by Private Charter Flight is a 10-day high-end journey designed for travelers who want Madagascar’s most famous landscapes and island highlights with comfort, privacy and time efficiency.

The itinerary connects remote and spectacular destinations by private air access: Amborodia / Bekopaka for Tsingy de Bemaraha, Morondava and the Avenue of the Baobabs, Isalo National Park, and Sainte Marie Island. Ground services are arranged with private vehicles, local guides and carefully selected hotels or lodges at each destination.

The journey begins in Antananarivo, then continues to the limestone world of Bemaraha, the golden baobab landscapes of Morondava, the sandstone canyons of Isalo and the tropical island atmosphere of Sainte Marie. It finishes with whale watching in season, Île aux Nattes and a private city tour in Antananarivo.

Travel character: This itinerary reduces long road travel through private air access while keeping the strongest natural experiences. Tsingy de Bemaraha remains adventurous, and Sainte Marie activities depend on weather, tide and sea conditions.

10-Day Detailed Itinerary

This itinerary can be adapted to your travel dates, comfort level, hotel category, and personal interests. Contact us to confirm availability and receive a tailored quotation.

On arrival at Ivato International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your private guide or airport representative and transferred to your hotel in Antananarivo. This first day is kept relaxed after the international flight, with time to settle in and enjoy a smooth beginning to the journey.

At the hotel, a private welcome briefing can be arranged. Your guide will explain the private flight schedule, luggage limits, park visits, walking levels, weather considerations, safety information, and the rhythm of the itinerary.

This is also a good moment to prepare walking shoes, light clothing, camera equipment, sun protection, a rain jacket, and a small daypack for the Tsingy and Isalo visits.

Accommodation: Maison Gallieni, Relais des Plateaux, Radisson Hotel, or similar

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for the private flight from Antananarivo to Amborodia, the air access point for the Bekopaka / Tsingy de Bemaraha region. The flight offers a spectacular aerial introduction to Madagascar’s remote western landscapes, with changing views of highlands, rivers, dry forest, and limestone country depending on routing and weather.

Upon arrival in Amborodia, meet your local guide and 4x4 team, then transfer to the lodge in the Bekopaka area. After check-in and a short refreshment break, begin the first Tsingy experience with a Manambolo Gorge excursion by traditional pirogue.

The Manambolo Gorge offers limestone cliffs, caves, river reflections, birds, and local boat life. In the afternoon, visit the Small Tsingy, a shorter and more accessible circuit with limestone passages, viewpoints, dry forest pockets, and possible wildlife. Return to the lodge for a relaxed evening.

Accommodation: Soleil des Tsingy or similar

Today is dedicated to the spectacular Grand Tsingy, one of Madagascar’s most famous natural wonders and one of the strongest highlights of the itinerary.

With a local specialist guide, explore dramatic limestone pinnacles, narrow corridors, caves, viewpoints, suspension bridges, and dry forest sections. The Grand Tsingy circuit is more adventurous than the Small Tsingy and may involve ladders, harness sections, sharp limestone, and narrow passages.

After the visit, transfer to the airstrip for the flight to Morondava. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel or continue directly to the famous Avenue of the Baobabs depending on timing. In the late afternoon, enjoy sunset among giant baobabs, warm golden light, local carts, village movement, and one of Madagascar’s most iconic landscapes.

Accommodation: Palissandre Côte Ouest, or similar

After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for the flight from Morondava to the Isalo region. This journey connects western Madagascar with the dramatic sandstone landscapes of the south, avoiding a long overland transfer.

Upon arrival, meet the local guide and transfer to your lodge near Ranohira / Isalo National Park. The scenery changes completely, with wide open landscapes, dry grasslands, sandstone formations, and golden southern light.

After check-in and time to rest, enjoy your first activities in the Isalo area. Depending on arrival time and guest preference, this may include a short scenic walk, lodge-area photography, a local viewpoint, the Window of Isalo, or a gentle sunset excursion among sandstone formations.

Accommodation: Isalo Rock Lodge, Jardin du Roy, Relais de la Reine, Satrana Lodge, or similar

After breakfast, enjoy a private guided visit of Isalo National Park, one of Madagascar’s most famous landscape parks.

The visit can be adapted to guest fitness and interests. A classic program may include Namaza Canyon, natural pools, dry forest trails, sandstone massifs, open grasslands, and canyon viewpoints. Time can be allowed for walking, photography, swimming where permitted, and quiet enjoyment of the scenery.

Possible wildlife includes ring-tailed lemurs, Verreaux’s sifaka, red-fronted brown lemur, birds, reptiles, butterflies, and canyon vegetation. The contrast between sandstone cliffs, green canyon vegetation, and natural water pools makes this one of the most beautiful landscape days of the tour.

Accommodation: Isalo Rock Lodge, Jardin du Roy, Relais de la Reine, Satrana Lodge, or similar

After breakfast, transfer for the flight from Isalo to Sainte Marie Island, located off Madagascar’s east coast.

Upon arrival, transfer to your beach lodge and settle into the island atmosphere. Sainte Marie offers a peaceful contrast to the dramatic landscapes of Tsingy and Isalo, with beaches, lagoons, coconut palms, fishing villages, and relaxed coastal scenery.

In the afternoon, enjoy a first Sainte Marie island tour. Depending on arrival time and local conditions, the tour may include fishing villages, coastal roads, viewpoints, small beaches, historical sites, local markets, or a visit to the pirate cemetery.

Accommodation: Princesse Bora Lodge, Mantis Soanambo, Masoandro Lodge, or similar

Today is dedicated to whale watching, one of Sainte Marie’s most famous seasonal experiences. During the humpback whale migration season, Sainte Marie is one of Madagascar’s best places to observe whales.

A responsible whale-watching excursion can be arranged with local operators, following respectful viewing rules and safety guidelines. The experience may include whale sightings, blows, tails, breaches, mother-and-calf behavior, and beautiful sea landscapes.

Sightings are never guaranteed, as whales are wild animals. If traveling outside whale season or if sea conditions are not suitable, the day can be adapted with a boat excursion, beach relaxation, island discovery, cycling, lagoon visit, or coastal cultural activities.

Accommodation: Princesse Bora Lodge, Mantis Soanambo, Masoandro Lodge, or similar

After breakfast, enjoy an excursion to Île aux Nattes, a small tropical island located south of Sainte Marie. This is one of the most beautiful and peaceful island experiences in the region.

Île aux Nattes is known for white sand beaches, turquoise lagoons, palm trees, small footpaths, pirogues, and quiet tropical scenery. The island has no large road traffic and offers a relaxed atmosphere ideal for walking, swimming, photography, and peaceful discovery.

The day can include a beach walk, village path exploration, lagoon views, lunch by the sea, and time to relax under coconut palms. Depending on tide and sea conditions, the transfer is arranged by local boat. Return to Sainte Marie in the afternoon.

Accommodation: Princesse Bora Lodge, Mantis Soanambo, Masoandro Lodge, or similar

After breakfast, transfer to Sainte Marie Airport for the flight back to Antananarivo.

Upon arrival in Tana, meet your private driver-guide and enjoy a city tour depending on timing and guest interest. The visit may include upper town viewpoints, historical districts, craft markets, local boutiques, or a comfortable lunch stop.

This day gives a final cultural touch before departure. It is also useful for shopping, relaxing, and preparing for the international flight the next day.

Accommodation: Maison Gallieni, Relais des Plateaux, San Cristobal Boutique Hotel, or similar

After breakfast, transfer to Ivato International Airport for your international departure. Depending on flight time, a final craft market stop, day-use room, or short city visit can be arranged.

The tour ends after a luxury journey through Madagascar’s most iconic highlights: Tsingy de Bemaraha, Avenue of the Baobabs, Isalo National Park, Sainte Marie, whale watching, Île aux Nattes, and Antananarivo.
